Aussie Excavators Plant Hire is a family owned and operated plant hire business.
We are committed to helping you with the right machinery for your project. Below are some of our most frequently asked questions when hiring any of our fleet machinery. If you have a question that has not been answered below, please give us a call on (07) 3206 2800
1. How far in advance do I need to book my machinery hire?
Most bookings come in a couple of days before the job is required. This gives us time to confirm availability of operators and machinery and ensures that you get the machine and attachments best suited for your job. There is no limit on how early you can book plant in. We are always happy to take bookings for emergencies and will endeavour to supply as quickly as possible.
2. Do I need to pay a deposit?
No deposits are required to make a booking. COD clients will be asked to supply credit card details and this will be charged at the end of the job.
3. Do I need a licence or ID to hire the equipment?
As our machinery only hires out as wet hire which means that the operator comes with it, it isn’t necessary for you to supply any licences.
4. Do you allow self-operation or do all hires come with a machine operators?
We supply wet hire machines only which means they come with an experienced operator.
5. Do you have a minimum number of hours for each hire?
We have minimum hire periods for each type/size of machine. These can be found on our price list.
6. What happens if something on the machine breaks while I have it hired?
If a problem occurs with a machine or attachment caused by general wear and tear, a replacement attachment or machine will be delivered to site. Any downtime will not be charged to clients.
7. On breakdown of a machine, will a replacement be issued?
While our machines and trucks are all late models and are regularly serviced by our diesel mechanics, from time to time unavoidable problems may arise. In minor cases a fitter will be sent straight out to site to address the problem. Should a more serious problem occur, a replacement machine will be delivered to your site. Any downtime will not be charged to clients.
8. Will trucks / equipment be filled and ready to work when they arrive on site?
Fuel is included in our hourly machine and truck hire rates. All plant and equipment arrives on site, with the operator, fully fuelled and ready to work.
9. What happens if my project runs overtime?
During the day of hire you will generally get an idea of how the job is progressing. Our office and operators will communicate should a job look like it will carry over and the job is easily extended by our operations team. You can also call the office at any time during your job to advise if you would like the job extended.
10. Is insurance included in the hire cost?
Insurance of all machinery is included in the hire pricing. There are no hidden costs associated with this.

Our cancellation policy can be viewed on our price list. A minimum of 2 hours prior to start time must be given when a job is to be cancelled. A minimum hire charge will apply otherwise.
12. Are attachments free or do I pay extra to hire them?
Some attachments are included in your hourly hire and some are an additional charge. The chargeable attachments are only charged per hour for the time they are used. A full list of chargeable attachments can be found on our price list.
